Personally, I almost hope that there never IS a movie. The idea is ingriguing, but I'm still worried about them absolutely ruining the book. Take "The Lost Word," "Congo," nearly anything by Tom Clancy or John Grisham, etc, etc, etc...they all had movies that take away most of the aspects of the book that we all enjoy.

A Tolkien movie would have two basic choices: gross oversimplification, or absolute truth. The former, of course, would be disgusting to any Tolkien fan. The latter, however, would require a vast amount of money, and would confuse people (imagine trying to keep all thsoe names strait if you've never read the book. Also, with "The Silmarrilion," it would be difficult to understand many of the allusions).

:P.S. I'll say it one more time. If Bombadil is in a LotR than :Robin Williams must play him.

The scary thing is that I can see that ALL TOO EASILY! :-)
