: A Tolkien movie would have two basic choices: gross oversimplification, or absolute truth. The former, of course, would be disgusting to any Tolkien fan. The latter, however, would require a vast amount of money, and would confuse people (imagine trying to keep all thsoe names strait if you've never read the book. Also, with "The Silmarrilion," it would be difficult to understand many of the allusions).You can't forget the poetic language that we all love would not be included in a movie either unless it was narrated which would be very corney.
