: I RECALL J.R.R.T. DERIDING THE BBC DRAMATIZATION IN A LETTER PUBLISHED IN A COLLECTION OF HIS LIFETIME CORRESPONDENCE.Eerrr! I don't think so! After all JRRT had been dead for a number of years when the BBC Radio drama of LotR came out! Maybe it was a real early version that I am not familiar with? : IF YOU HAVE HAD EXPERIENCE WITH ANY AUDIO VERSION OF LOTR I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR YOUR OPINION...THANKS! I would recommend the BBC Radio dramitarisation (Spelling?) 100%. It is superb. OK it misses some things, like Old Tom boy, but then how important to the story was the inclusion of TB? Not a hell of a lot! And besides with actors such as Sir Michael Horden and Ian Holm, not to mention the chap who played Aragorn (cause I can't remember his name (what a fool!). Such a powerful voice!), it was always going to be a storming success. So long as they stuck to the real story of course - and they did! Cheers Padster
