: I'm once again rereading the Lord of the Rings and am currently in the chapter the Passing of the Grey Company. While I was reading it I came upon the part where they find the dead body in the Paths of the Dead. It is said that he lays next to a door. Aragorn is unsure what is behind it and he says he doesn't think anyone shall ever know. So, what is behind the door? Anyone know?

: Jon

This is just a stab in the dark, seeing as how I've only read the entire series of books only once, but here goes. Maybe the body is there because whoever he/she/it was opened the door and was struck dead by what was on the other side, or whatever force on other side of the door sent the body out to the doorway as a warning. Maybe it's the door the Middle-Earth's Hell or even the Void. This is kind of a philisophical or thought-provoking question, and I LOVE THESE KINDS OF QUESTIONS!
