: Who says that the movies have a two hour max time slot? I say turn all three into epics (costly, but it will honor the extensiveness of the story). I can sit through nine hours of a coherent, competently produced Tolkien movie trilogy.

Heck I could sit through *18 HOURS*. But Jackson says he's planning on 6 hours total running time, 2 hours per film. I wouldn't expect too much deviation from that...but that's the company line at the moment.
