: I'm 19 years old, I'm from Detroit, and I first read LotR almost exactly a year ago. (I saw the Ralph Bakshi movie as a child, and it turned me away from Tolkien for many years! But since I don't remember much about it anymore, there was no permanent damage done... :-) ) I feel old. I'm 24 and in medical school. I first read the Hobbit in sixth grade (I was 12), and Lord of the Rings shortly thereafter. I've read LotR at least 30 times (I lost count years ago).
