: I am fifteen years old, picked up The Hobbit for the first time when I was twelve (although I finished the entire series a few months ago), and live in San Antonio. How old are you guys, when did you first read LotR, and where dost thou hail from?: BTW, my tiny, tiny complaint is as of this writing, me and The White Rider have accounted for exactly 100% of new posts for the last two days. Middle-Earth is it's own world. Let the ideas, thoughts, and questions spawn!!! Hi all! This is my first post on this board and like Neithan I´m a Scandinavian. My real name is Joakim and I live in Sweden where I work as an Environmental Consultant. I´m 25 years old and I read LOtR for the first time when I was 13 I think. Since then I´ve read the swedish translation (by Åke Ohlmarks) about six times. When I picked up the Trilogy for the first time in English I was stunned by the beautiful language and shocked by discovering som major translation errors done by Mr Ohlmarks. Since then I´ve reread the English version about four times. Like someone mentioned back at ´Aint-It-Cool News I felt like I´d just got to know Santa really existed and that he would visit me on Christmas 2000 when I heard Peter Jackson and New Line where going to make THE movies. I think he´s going to do a great job after I read the interview with him. I can´t wait until I see Éowyn challenging the Witch-King on the big screen. I shiver with delight! ... I´d like to see Max Von Sydow as Gandalf. Just give the man a big beard and a pointy, blue hat. The voice and eyes are right (...and he´s a Swede;)). May The Sun shine upon Your path! Joakim
