But there's no evidence that the few that survived the fall of Angband ever served Sauron in the Second or Third Ages. It seems they hid deep within the earth, as in Moria. : If any were present in the first War of the Ring, the War of the Last Alliance, or the final War of the RIng, Tolkien does not mention them. Oh! I must be thinking of the computer game I have then!
