Christopher Tolkien said Tolkien abandoned his sequel becaus the magic of middle Earth pretty much ended when Sauron was defeated, but suppose Tolkein and C.S. Lewis had gotten together and did a crossover between the Lord of the rings and the Chronicles of Narnia-Imagine this: Hyerumor, the black Numenorean mentioned in Tolkien's sequel has been having dealings with Jadis of Charn and teaches her to make rings. We know Jadis is supposed to be a descendant of Lillith, who according to muslim theology is a demon. Suppose that Sauron Is the Elven name for the same demon and with the power of the rings, Jadis contacts her ancestor on Earth. In return for the secret of the deplorable word, she agrees to help Sauron seek revenge against Gondor for his defeat by teaching Her magic to Hyerumor. When Hyerumor meets with his allies, Jadis tricks him into letting himself become posessed by Jadis, and she figures out how to use her magic rings to Time travel. With them, and Hyerumor's memory of ring lore-she goes back in time and steals the one ring before Deagol finds it in the great river. Hyerumor and his allies try and find her because he wants to ressurect his dark Lord and destroy Gondor....Too bad Tolkien gave up so easily...it could have worked!
