: Not at all, I do not forget and that happens to be one of the issues about The Silmarillion and the history of Middle Earth that really, really bugs me. *What the hell happened to Maglor?*

: To have to wander for ever, the shores (no matter how pretty) of a land with (apparantly) no chance of forgiveness is utterly heartless of the part of any being, be they Valar or not!

: If any of the Sons of Feanor deserved a break, it was Maglor, and yet he seems to have been tarred with the same brush as the rest of his siblings and cast aside as a bad idea. This is neither a satisfactory, nore a fair ending for a person who showed genuine remorse!

It appears he was the weakest willed of the brothers, following them down the path of damnation rather than leading the way.

However, its never stated that he has no chance of forgiveness or redemption. His wandering the shores in despair was his own doing - not the Valar's. If he wants forgiveness and redemption, he should have taken positive action to try to make up for the evil he was a part of. Rather than wallow in self-pity he could have tried to *do* something.
