: Dagor Dagorath is basically the end of the world, in a way, for Arda. The Valar become lax in their duties of guardianship, and Morgoth returns from the Outside. He destroys the sun and the moon. Soon after though Earendil comes and sears him from the sky. Then Turin returns from the dead, and is raised up to be one of the Ainur (I think a Maiar). Túrin, Tulkas, and Eonwë do battle with Morgoth. Finally, Túrin slays Morgoth with The Black Sword, Gurthang. Then Fëanor is recalled from the Halls of Mandos. Eärendil surrenders his Silmaril, and the other two are found. Fëanor opens them and revives the Two Trees. The world is remade, and things are as they are supposed to be. All the elves are reincarnated, though I do not recall the fate of men in this scenario.I know the name Dagor Dagorath and what it refers to, but I have never read all these details. Please could you tell me where I could find information about the Second Prophecy of Mandos. Thanks I only knew that it will be Turin who will slay Morgoth. How could it be? All humans spirits leave Arda for ever. So how could Turin come back? Unlike the Elves, human fate isn't bound to Arda. You said he is raised to up to be one of the Ainur. But Why? Why him? I don't feel confortable about that idea. The idea that a human whose fate becomes Elvish, I can understand. But not that Turin's nature could change radically. Anyway will it be the last battle? Melkor'spirit cannot be destroyed... Mordan
