: I got this in an e-mail from this boards web-master Michael Martinez, he sent me exerpts from the sixth book of the History of Middle-earth, I can't recall the name, but it's the sixth book. Thanks a lot. I will have to purchase that book. : Túrin is indeed special in relation to Morgoth. Morgoth managed to ruin Túrin, and all his families life. Through killing his first sister Lalaith, forcing his mother to send him to Doriath, slaying the elf in Doriath, slaying his friend Beleg, and marrying his own sister. Morgoth caused all this by spell, ruining his life, Túrin had more to avenge against Morgoth than anyone. I remenber Tolkien saying that Morgoth was killed for ever. The body of Morgoth is completely destroyed. At the End It will be Melkor with which we will have to deal with, and not Morgoth. : Túrin is a very special case, Beren was let back to life only to please Lúthien, Túrin is coming back to save the world from Morgoth's rule, a far more important reason. If I remember well It's by permission of Illúvatar (I assume) since he is being elevated to the ranks of the Maia. Other Maiar could do it instead of Turin. Turin is certainly not the only one who suffered greatly from Morgoth's influence. . It's basically Illúvatar is THE God, and can do whatever he damn well pleases. Can HE destroyed a spirit completely? I don't think He can do everything He want. At least He cannot force his Children to think and act like He want. He created his Children free of mind. I don't think Turin is linked so closely to Morgoth, partly because I remenber faintly Tolkien saying the contrary. I will have to look after this writing. In fact I have never put much attention about Turin's case. There is some new readings ahead of me... Mordan
