: I'm a little confused about what you're talking about. Have you ever read the Silmarillion? In it, it clearly states that Morgoth is another name for Melkor, it was given to him by Fëanor. I forget the translation, but it means something like hated-one. Morgoth and Melkor are the same personI have read it. And if you have read Morgoth's Ring, you should have understood why I was talking about! hey I'm kidding! I explain. Morgoth is indeed another name for Melkor used only during the war between the Elves and Melkor but, when Morgoth died, Melkor named as Morgoth(Melkor/Morgoth) disappear for ever. Is there something left? Yes, only a shrunken Melkor(note I don't called him Melkor/Morgoth) who was powerless. What I am trying to explain is that Melkor/Morgoth the Tyrant died for ever when he was put to death by Mandos. It was the very end for Melkor/Morgoth, but not for Melkor. You just have a remote part of the original being(Melkor). There is no more right to talk of Morgoth, because Morgoth doesn't exist anymore. : Secondly, have you ever read the story of Túrin. It can be found in Unfinished Tales and the Silmarillion. If you've read it, you have to acknowledge that Túrin's entire life was ruined in every way by Morgoth/Melkor. ABOSOLUTELY NO ONE, HAS SUFFERED MORE FROM MORGOTH THAN TURIN AND HIS FAMILY. This is a guy who unknowingly married his sister, lived through his other sisters death, had his father tortured by Morgoth (he was forced to watch his family's tragic life from a top tower), mistakenly killed his best friend (Beleg), was forced from his home(Dor Lómin) and then due to trouble was forced to leave his adoptive land (Doríath), and in the end he finds he has married his sister and she mistakenly kills herself, thinking he's dead, so he follows suit, throwing himself on hte Black Sword, Gurthang. : TURIN WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE WITHOUT A DOUBT Take it easy Jon. I'm not deaf! Yes I have read them, but not the books of 'The History of ME' talking about this period. These books seem to be a gold mine of information. I should perhaps read them again. I think some Turin's acts are is fault, not Morgoth's. And anyway Morgoth is DEAD. I will come back again with this subject. I have to read Mordan
