: Michael,: Hold it right there. : If I remember from what Tolkien said about Lothlorien in LoTR, I remember he mentioned that the Fellowship "spent some days in Lothlorien, as far as they could tell or remember." I think this implies that because of the magic that Galadriel wielded with Nenya, anyone who goes into Lothlorien will have difficulty keeping track of time. : Because of this, I'm not surprised that Samwise mentioned he could only remember a few days in that truly enchanted place. Right, That's what I've been trying to say. In the chapter THE MIRROR OF GALADRIEL it states, "They remained some days in Lothlórien, so far as they could tell or remember." Besides, the elves did not care about time itself, they cared about what time brought, death to things they loved and fading. Personally I believe, and I think it is stated somewhere in Tolkien's work, that the Three simply slowed or stopped the aging of things. This could have something to do with Bilbo's longevity, though I realize it is mostly due to the powers of the One. I'll skim through the three chapters on Lórien a little more and see if I can find anything else.
