: I was just curious. Did Tolkien ever write/publish a complete/draft/incomplete verse version of the lay of Beren and Luthien?

I believe I did see one in the Book of Lost Tales Two, but I'm not sure (I don't own the book). You'll have to wait until Michael's on the board, he'll know. But I am pretty sure there was at least a longer version, in verse, than what appeared in A Knife in the Dark, in the FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING.
