: : I like the picture of the ringwraith overlooking the shire at the official site. It is very pretty. I just don't like one thing about it. He looks too clean. Too polished. When I think of the ringwraiths, I think of pure evil that has been around for a long time and looks worn. I see them in tattered cloaks with hoods that hide all but the eyes. I think of dark red eyes, but they are still bright. They are bright enough to but do not illuminate their face or hood. The ringwraiths seem to scare the light away from them. If you see one, you feel true terror. A cold fear that would wash over you and make you tremble. The ringwraiths are pure unadulterated evil. I want their voice to be very cold, in order to compliment their looks. When they say, "Where is Baggins?", I want the "s" to be hissed like it hurts them to talk. I don't want anything like the Witch King's voice from the cartoon version of the Return of the King. That high pitched voice remined me of the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz. I want the voices to be deep and menacing. Maybe get James Earl Jones to do the Witch King's voice. As for their weapons, I want the blades to be very used looking. Strong but heavily used, chipped in places, with a dark tint. These are just my thoughts on how the ringwraiths should be in the movie.: I think that the ringwraiths should look like that. But I don't want them to look dirty. I mean they should definetily not be clean cut. They should have an ancientness about them. All around them should be some sort of cloud or smoke that sortof comes out of them when they are standing still. They should not have the smelly apear. But a coldness about them that sends chills down the audiences back. And that coolness about them should be acompanied by a deep harsh voice. Almost as if someone was dying. They should have large black cloaks with nothing being revealed but their eyes. Which should definately be red and menacing. I think whereever they go there should be a sort of haunting music accompanying them sortof like darth Sideous or Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars... In the Return of the King however they should be relatively different. First of all I think that they should have less cloaks revealing most of their armor. And they should sound more powerful and ready for battle. Before they were on the hunt and swift and evil. NOw they should be revealing thier raw power. I disagree about their weapons though. I think that their weapons should all be a darkish blue or black. And should be themselves almost "smoking" They should be stainless, but looking like a midnight blue. These weapons should be very different from all of the others. For instance, the knives should have hooks on them like the hunting knives of now (I think you understand what they mean). The only think that i was always a little confused about was their stead. Was it a black dragon like thing with wings, or was it a black bird without feathers. I think a dragonlike thing would look much cooler, but TOlkien describes them as birds. But most of all they should be BIG!!!!!! and scary.. But that is all I have to say.. Just my opinion that I am throwing out I think that the feeling of dread that accompanies the ringwraiths will be a challenge. Jackson will have to make US feel that dread and clench the armrests of our chairs so tightly that our knuckles go white. Think of the scariest movie you've ever seen, and how it made your heart beat and perhaps caused you to duck under the seat in the theater. That's the kind of feeling that Jackson should go for with the audience. The very presence of these creatures causes grown men to fall to the ground and quail in fear. Some how this has to be related to the audience or we'll just sit there yawning, or worse...laughing at the scenes. And with all the scary movies that have been made, and the ever more jaded audiences, it will have to be some really good acting and direction and music to make us feel the fear. I don't want to know that the people on screen are scared, I want to share that feeling with them, as I did when I read the book. As for their clothing...whatever works best to give me the willies and stays within the parameters of the book. As for what they rode...Some artists have painted them as pterodactyls, and given Tolkien's description of leathery, featherless creatures from another age, I guess they could be right. Had they been dragons, I think Tolkien would have mentioned the fact.
