Some third-hand spin-doctoring has been posted to alt.fan.tolkien. I'm not sure of what to make of these criteria, but they are being used to cast actors (who, supposedly, have already been selected), not to write the script. The actors will be expected to understand their characters and give some "depth" through expression, tone, etc.

Of course, if Arwen comes into Rivendell dressed in armor and raging like a Balrog, Peter Jackson will never hear the end of it from me....
