: Some third-hand spin-doctoring has been posted to alt.fan.tolkien. I'm not sure of what to make of these criteria, but they are being used to cast actors (who, supposedly, have already been selected), not to write the script. The actors will be expected to understand their characters and give some "depth" through expression, tone, etc.

Nor from me. I've been a firm (but cautious) advocate for Jackson to date. But there is no support in text whatsoever for Arwen wielding a sword - save possibly in a ceremonial capacity.

If these profiles are in fact legitimate, I have to say that I have real concerns now, regardless of whether these profiles are connected with the script itself. I have to hope that these are a) made up out of whole cloth, b) a fanciful embroidery by a Victora employee, or c) legitimate but unapproved by Jackson.
