: When reading the books by Tolkien, I can't help but want to be there myself and actually be one of the existing characters (even Sauron). All characters are noble in their own way and everyone has his or her own characteristics that apeal to different people. It sounds sad I know, but when i read the books I start to think 'how can I be more like that person in everyday life?' This is to all the regulars and anyone else: Which character do you admire the most and why? My name says it all, seems like you should try some roleplaying. : Another thing. In The letters of Tolkien he says that he is working on a story about when Aragorn II and the children go around acting as Orcs (is this correct?) and cults come into it etc. Has this story been published at all? The story is called "The new Shadow" you can find it in "The Peoples of Middle-Earth", "volume 12 in The History of Middle-Earth". P. 409. : Finally, Tolkien saw himself as an observer of Arda and it's history and not the creator. Would it be right for anyone to publish fictional work on Arda etc? I do not know whether it would be right or wrong, I guess it would be what you feel it to be. Me I find it wrong, but still write my own module for roleplaying there and has eagerly bought most of ICE's stuff- I excuse this heresy by claiming that both are not truly Arda, they are other peoples' interpretation of Arda. Welcome on the list. ;-) Neithan
