Because of a thread at theonering.net message board concearning the hair colour of the Elves, I stumbled upon the family tree of the Quendi at the Encyclopedia of Arda. This tree divides from the Quendi into two branches; Avari and Eldar, and continues to divide the Eldar into Vanyar, Noldor and Teleri. So far so good, but then the Teleri becomes Nandor, Lindar and Sindar and finally the Nandor divides into the Silvan and Laiquendi. In my world the Silvan and the Green-elves belonged to the Avari and not to the Eldar branch. The wood-elves belonged to the Moriquendi, the Elves who didn't make the journey from Quiviénen to Valinor.Could someone please straighten this out? Regards Mjolnir PS. And was the Noldor of the Houses (families) of Finarfin and Fingolfin mostly fair-haired? DS.
