Look in the index for "White Lady of the Noldor" and you'll see what I mean. : The only two references the index gives for Idril don't mention anything about her hair color (or skin color), but her mother was Elenwe of the Vanyar. Quite right. Isfin (or Irith) became Aredhel Ar-Finiel, Idril's aunt. I also could not find a reference to Idril's hair color. Not only was her mother Elenwe, but her grandmother was Indis of the Vanyar. Galadriel, whose grandmother was also Indis, but whose mother was of the Teleri, was, of course, blond.
