: This has been a matter of discussion in the past. It's late for me and I'm getting sleepy, so I'll give the short answer. The Faithful Dunedain, from whom came the Dunedain of Arnor and Gondor, were largely drawn from the Beorians of Andunie. The Kings Men were composed of most of the remaining Numenoreans, and from them came the Black Numenoreans.

: Some people have argued it's not quite that simple, but maybe I'll have time to go into more detail tomorrow (later today). Maybe someone else will pick up the thread from this point on. :)

> I believe the description of the Hadorians coupled with what we know of our Germanic tribes' mentality (from whom I believe JRRT drew his inspiration for the Marachians) fit well with them being seduced to rebellion by pride and perceived honour and thus they would make up most of the King's men.
I also think that a couple of the Kings of Arnor or Gondor was described as golden-haired, but I may have been corrupted by MERP.
