: :Each hobbit used his sword at one time or another but : without such legendary results as Merry's. : Maybe because they weren't using the blade against the only enemy its enchanted against, Narzguls and in particular the Witch-King. The Narzgul Lord must have alot of enemies if people made weapons specifically to kill him*grins*. I guess that a lot of the greater, especially immortal, lords of Middle-earth must have had a lot of hopeful smiths and enchanters weave spells and weapons especially for their demise. Why waste spells on lowly Orks if you can weave spells to slay the Orkss commander and render him uncommanded and confused. I personally believe that the weapons retrieved from the barrow was all weaved with spells for the demise either of Arthedain's main enemy; The Witch King, or for Nazgūl or undead generally as they did seem to plague what was Arnor. ;-) Neithan Turambar ("of course, to Gurthang and I it would have been no particular problem to dispatch that skraelling")
