: Maybe because they weren't using the blade against the only enemy its enchanted against, Narzguls and in particular the Witch-King. The Narzgul Lord must have alot of enemies if people made weapons specifically to kill him*grins*.

It would make sense for him to have a lot of enemies. After all,
the Sindar had lived in Eriador for quite some time by the time Sauron, and thus The Witch-King, came to power.
