Now, I am going to throw out some confused and half finished thoughts for you to share and comment on (it is 07.00 in the morning here now- and I have a young girlfriend).
I was thinking of Gollum, he finally "reddems" himself, though unwillingly and still evil at heart. This made me think of "purpose" in M-E, I think that everything and everyone is there for a purpose, even the evil beings, Everything concieved by Eru's thought seems to have a purpose (though it is hard for me to think of one for Morgoth and Sauron and I mostly build my case on Gollum, however, was I not so sleepy, I could probably find more). To me, this implies that all Eru's thought is instrumental in healing Arda marred. However, where does that leave free will?
These are just jumbled thoughts but I thought I would post them anyway for your... amusement?
