What I obviously need to do, is to relate this more strongly to Tolkein's Writings. This thread about how the LOTR affects us IRL is valuable in the kind of variety it can elicit, and we've gone into so much detail, that it's almost destroyed the nature of the thread. I'm going to desist from further comments with regards to capital punishment on this thread. I will, however, begin a new thread specifically discussing this, but with great care to keep it Tolkein related.
