: Hey All!!! This is probably an old topic but what are ya'll's opinion about Tom Bombadil and that whole Schpeal not being put in the movie. This is Sam Gamgee's older brother(17), and he keeps me filled in on most of the stuff that goes on but I haven't heard anything about this in a couple of weeks so I don't even know if has been put in or not. I would love to hear anyones opinion on this matter.

: My argument for this is the fact that Tom saves the Primary 4 people, and the 1 reason The Fellowship of The Ring is coming together, before they even get to Rivendell while they were still in the Forest. In fact I think he saves them twice. Without that second one which I think is the Barrow-Downs/Barrow-Wights(something like that I can't remember exactly) how will they explain their weapons when they get to Rivendell?? Please correct me if I'm wrong about that last part about the weapons.

: That is my argument. I have to leave now but it was fun. Post ya'll later.

Peter Jackson said in an interview (I believe at aint-it-cool-news.com) that he wouldn't be against putting Tom in the movie, but cutting it for it's release. This way, in 10-15 years they can re-release the movies with "special scenes" which would have Tom in the movie. Like what they did with the Star Wars Special Edition Movies.
