: I'm taking a poll of my own, and I was wondering why and how long ago each of you read the THE HOBBIT and/or LORD OF THE RINGS and/or THE SILMARILLION.

: Witch book(s) did you read first: The Hobbit, Then the Lord of the Rings, and finally the Simarillion.

: Why did you read it: My father encouraged me to read it.

: What year was it or are you still reading it: I was in the thrid grade, so about 1974. Since then I have re-read the Hobbit three more times, The Simarillion about 5 times and the entire Lord of the Rings about 3 times.

: I originally read The Hobbit about one and a half years ago, because I had seen some of Tolkien's pictures and I love art (as long it is clean, if you know what I mean) so I wanted to read the book so I could let my imagination go wild. Then after I read The Hobbit I wanted more, so I read the Lord of the Rings and I am now in the middle of The Silmarillion.
: I hope this is easier.
