What I'd like to know is, has anybody posted a map comparing Middle Earth to our world? I admit to not having a head for distances, so if I could look at something that shows me The Shire to Gondor and then I could compare it to England to Spain, that would be very helpfull. And kind of cool.It seems that it's been more commonly seen as the Shire to Gondor as to England to Italy, sort of like Gondor being the equivelant to Rome. I've heard that a number of times. Than the lands of Harad, etc, would be equivelant to Africa, thus explaining the dark skins of the people of these lands.
