: The Atlas is very good indeed, as is the Complete Guide, but watch out when reading the David Day titles as they are wildly innacurate.
So is Foster in some areas, she knows as much about military matters as I do if cartography- ie almost nothing.
Her maps and marching measurances are good, but for the rest.... well, she starts out by calling the Witch King of Angmar "Angmar" that sort of describes it to me. It is imperiative to be wary when purchasing Tolkien Companions, most has merely jumped the bandwagon.
