: : If he did enter the service of the dark tower in 2951 he would : : still have been old at the time of he WR. Still he seems like a : : man in great vigour (to put it that way). If he was borne in : : the south in the third age his Numenorean blood would be very : : diminished. It just seems unlikely that his life span was that : : of a normal mans particularly since he had forgotten his : : original name.: He shouldn't have had a normal man's life span or vigour. He was a Black Numenorean. They would have retained their vitality until just before they died. : I sort of wonder what his ancestors would have thought of him, serving the enemy they had opposed. I read a novel called Isildur, on the internet recently. It stated that the mouth of Sauron was a Nümenorean of the second age that was cursed by Isildur like the dead men of Erech. It is a little far out, but it is not impossible. I pesonally belive that Herumor was a man from Umbar of Nümenorean descent who had moved to Gondor. It seams quite fitting for him to take the name after the great (at least from the Umbarian point of wiew) king of old. Meneldur
