I’ve offen taken thought to the problem of getting rid of the One ring, and the discussions at the Counsil of Elrond. And I have two questions for the White Counsil on that part:
1. Why wasn’t Gwaihir invited??? He must have had alot of information on what was going on in M-E, and he represented one of the free peoples of M-E - he could talk, and was if I’m not mistaken a Maiar spirit, as was his brother Landroval and perhaps many other of the eagles, so their/his thoughts should have been heard at the Counsil of Elrond. 2. If you want to get rid of the ring (and I know that this kill the story as we know it) why dont you just put Frodo on the back of an eagle and fly him into Mordor, with a ground distraction of people from Gondor or Lorien and the stealth and speed of the eagles, your only problem would be Frodo, failing to destroy the ring ...
I know that there is no reason for discussing the second part but do anybody know of any reason that Gwaihir wasn’t invited or didn’t attend the Counsil of Elrond.
