: in any books? Well, he was born in November, 1924, according to Carpenter's biography (of J.R.R. Tolkien). There are some family photos in the biography and in THE ANNOTATED HOBBIT. I don't know where else you could look. In the more recent video biography of JRRT in which Christopher is interviewed you can see a strong resemblance between him and his father, but he seems to be slimmer than his father was in the 1960s.
