: : : : : : : : : Speaking of the Elf, why does Legolas having blond hair? If PJ was paying attetion, he would know that Legolas was Sindarin, probably with some Silvan blood, and only the Vanyar and the house of Finarfin had blond hair, and that Legolas should have gray, silver, or black hair (without pointed ears!!!).: : : : Thranduil the father of Legolas had blond hair. : : : Where does it say that? : : "The feast they now saw was greater and more magnificent than before; and at the head of a long line of feasterssat a woodland king with a crown of leaves upon his golden hair...". : : The Hobbit, Chapter VIII, Flies and Spiders : Maybe it was dyed? : Besides, The Hobbit was a children's book, and Tolkien's children were probably expecting Elves with golden hair, and he put it in to please him. We dont know what his children were expecting. But as they are alive perhaps you can write them and find out.:) : Or maybe a mistake? Even the greatest minds slip up once in a while. You asked where it said that. I quoted the reference directly. If you don not wish to accept it that is your perogotive. There are many places in Tolkien's works where I would like to say he made a mistake, that his mind slipped up etc.
