I suppose the hill folk referred to in this tale are the same as the Wild Men appearing in LotR.

Who then are the folf with which Tar-Elmar lives. Were they completely wiped out by the Dunedain, or did they become Dunlendings or something?

Who are the people attacking them from the East, and from whom Elamr came?

Why did the Numenorinas want to drive this folk away or wipe them out? Surely there was still enough empty land to settle in those days?

Were the ship-faring Numenorians dark numenorians?

Any speculations on how this story would have finished?
