Ok, hear me out first! This came to me last night while I was trying to get to sleep!?! We seem to agree that thirty Rangers turned up in Rohan for Aragorn. Ok. Then they fought in the Pelennor fields, and some were killed ( I know Halbarad was, but is it reasonable to assume that others were??)
We then know that at the final battle in front of the black gate picked men of Minas Tirith and Rangers of the North were placed in the front line, as well as at the end when close serried companies of them drove back the enenmy. This implies that there were more Rangers than just a few ( assuming losses in the prevoius battle.) Right: The point-
Does this mean that more joined Aragorn before the battle, or that the 'picked men' of Rangers were only about twenty. They were defending a Hill at the end, so top face Mordor in the front line, surely more than a few would be required? And would Aragorn risk his close kinsman like that if there were really so few of them?
What does anyone else think???
