: I had never heard of jackson before LotR movie project either but since then i have seen his movie shooting fish(isnt that what it was called)...it was clever but certainly wasnt anything special if you ask me.But you cant judge him on one movie.

Peter Jackson didn't direct Shooting Fish. His movies to date are:
Bad Taste
Brain Dead (also released as Dead Alive)
Meet The Feebles
Heavenly Creatures (Starring Kate Winslet)
The Frighteners (Starring Michael J. Fox)
and a spoof documentary called "Forgotten Silver"
