Here's one thing that I am sure Peter jackson will omit from the upcoming films that I haven't seen mentioned.
In the present political-cultural climate, I doubt if we'll see any of the Hobbits, Bree-landers, Dwarves, Strider, Gandalf or Saruman smoking pipe weed or engaging in the tobacco trade.
I'd think of this as a small matter, but, considering that the trade is the Trojan Horse that got Saruman's hooks into the Shire, and played a (very subtly drawn) role in the fall of Saruman and his suspicions of Gandalf, I wonder how this will be handled.
