: Are Enedwaith and Dunland synonymous terms? Was the latter a subdivision of the former? My impression is that Dunland was limited to the land between the Glanduin, the Old South Road and the Misty Mountains.: Any ideas? : Cheers : Berembrôg I dont hve my book present, and Im not totally sure of the confines on "Dunland". But Im pretty sure that Enedwaith meand mittleland and is described as being the landmass between the rivers.
I cant be argumentet that "Dunland" basicly was the land area in control of the Dunleadings wherefore it must have been differing from time to time. We now for example that the sisterson (as I remember) of Helm Hammer (first king of the second line which name I dont remamber (freá or fram maybe???)) made feasome raides into Dunland and taking for some short period of time control of Dunledish areas. Anyway Im pretty sure that I would describe Dunland as going closer to the misty mountains that the eastern river! Cheers Telchar Cheers
