: I apologize, please excuse my ignorance, but I'm having difficulties reconciling something: Who was Elladan and Elrohir's mother?? Is there an account of her imprisonment and torture in the Silmarillion? Thank you for your forebearance.


Elronds wife and Elladan and Elrohirs (and Arwens) mother was Celebrían. She was the daughter of Galadriel and Celeborn and she was captured and tortured by orcs in the Misty Mountains when travelling betwee Imladris and Lórien. She was hurt so bad before she was freed that she never recovered but travelled to the Grey Havens and sailed into the West.
