: : : : : : I'm at Uni in Birmingham.... That's the real Birmingham in in the U.K! : : : : Is there any other Brits out there??: : : I'm from Liverpool. : : Hello fellow Lancastrian, I'm from Oldham. But posting from UMIST in Manchester (mostly). : Lancastrian? Well, historically, you're right but I don't feel like one, even though I live half a mile from the Lancashire border and worked in Chorley for two years. I now post mostly from my place of employment in Warrington. Despite its PR campaign Warrington is a Lancashire town (it's north of the Mersey). All the fiddling with administrative borders since 1971 has not affected the institution of the County Palatine of Lancaster or the Duchy. Much as the Queen is overlord of the Channel islands as Duke of Normandy, the Queen's rule over historic Lancashire is firstly as Duke of Lancaster (not Duchess). In feudal terms Lancashire is more separate from the rest of England than Cornwall.
