By the way, which "great" directors do you mean? I do intend to see the first film, and let it show me path the other films will take. I suggest you do the same. After all, what have you got lose? Just a few coin from your pocket. If the film sucks bilge water, you can always walk out of the theater. Remember, you will always have the books and your own vision of Middle Earth.
