: Good point about the eldest son...

: He is a little dull, not accomplishing much - his two cool acts were shooting the Nazgul down, and standing up for Gimli to Eomer...beyond that....

: Why the dislike for Galadriel if I may ask? If it's just the "desertion" of Celeborn (who had an attitude problem anyway) remember how long she had been living in ME - I'm sure she deserved the break, and probably was unwilling to see the fading of Lorien.

Well, there's the abandoning Celeborn bit which is bad enough, but also, she was (depending on which version of Tolkein's writings you follow) one of the exiles who were responsible for some pretty awful kinslaying acts and evils against their own kind (whether or not she was there, she is a Noble of the royal family, swore the oath and must take collective responsibility)
She wanted to rule her own realm, and then decided that was not what she wanted at all, and whined to the Hobbits about bveing stuck in middle Earth.
Then she gets forgiven for refusing the ring, so she is rewarded for not being 'evil', which is odd, cos she wasn't before either, abandons hubby and Elves like poor old Maglor (who is my favourite elf, and I often meet him for a pint in the old Prancing Pony, now renamed and quite near my house) get forced to wander middle earth forever and never get forgiven.
I just think she is a bit of a disappointment.
