Okai, the point is, men were going to dominate Middle-Earth, and the first-born were to leave. Ummm, why??
Why did Illuvitar decree that Arda was for Man after the 3rd age, and that the Elves had to evacuate, or dwindle into rustic folk.

And also, how did they dwindle? Did all the elvish men become impotent? Why did the elvish numbers become less, when they are basically immortal? You'd think that birth rates were higher than fatalities.

Also, with their wisdom, power, knowledge, lore, hardiness of body, why would they dwindle? You'd think that they would have plenty to teach men, and plenty more to learn.

Soooo... What's the deal?
