Each time I read the last chapter of FotR I think of how could the first book end there.
The end with the death of Boromir is nice, but it is not really an end.
There are so many unsolved questiones, where are Merry and Pippin? What will Aragorn choose? where are Frodo and Sam heading? where is Gollum?
That is the part of the book where I am most eager to read more, and I cant imagine how it is when you don't have the book and you have to wait a year untill you will see what happens. I guess a lot of people will buy the book at that time.
Does anyone of you know what people thought of the first book when it came out, concerning the end?Maglor
