: : : even the largest of the Pyramids could have been built in about 20 years by a number of people under 300. : : Just out of interest... How? : OK. The Great Pyramid of Giza has 2.3 million blocks, each weigh 2.5 tonnes. 8 people can manage one block per day (12 hours). : If we say the pyramid WAS built over 20 years, then they would have to move these 2.3 million blocks over that period. That is 115000 blocks per year. That is 315 blocks every day (12 hours). That is 26 blocks a day. That means it would take 208 people to complete the task. : Now thats looking it at a very basic level. For instance it takes no account of deaths during the construction from whatever the source (exhaustion, accident, old age, etc, etc). Nore does it take into accoun the people necessary to cut the stones from the earth (though maybe the person who made the original calculations DID think about this). : But there you have it. Barring any other interveneing forces, it would take 208 people 20 years to move and build the Great Pyramid of Giza. : Cheers : : Padster Yes, but that takes no account of the economy which would have to exist behind them to provide the money, food etc to make that possible
