: Umm... I kinda liked, "The 13th Warrior" he whispered meekly...

I haven't seen it, so I can't say anything about it, though my heart tells me it doesn't belong in the top list. Today's fantasy film buffs like a lot of recent films, but a truly good fantasy film is a rare and precious jewel. They really don't make them like they used to, and a lot of schlock came out of the "good old days", too, but back before special effects became all the rage good acting, good dialogue, and good storytelling were far more important than they seem to be today.

There are diehard fans for the "Beastmaster" and "Deathstalker" movies. Those aren't good fantasy films. They aren't as bad as "Ironmaster" or "The Warrior Queen", but they are not GOOD.

I'd rather have a dozen great classics like "Robin Hood" to watch than 100 schlotzy 1980s/1990s fantasy films like we do have.
