: Will the actors be speaking true elven, or mock-elven?Since Jackson has hired two Tolkien linguists to help with the project, I suspect the Elvish in the movies will be legitimate, although it may include some extensions (words devised by the linguists rather than Tolkien himself, to help fill out the languages). David Salo published an extensive Silvan Elvish dictionary and grammar in a recent issue of OTHER HANDS. It's all virtually an extension of Tolkien's work, but it is nonetheless an authoritative treatment.
