Perhaps the term unbiased was not the best I could have used. My apologies if that comment seemed to approach a flame; that was not my intent. The point that I was trying to convey was that when one reads the three most completed works, each of them shows some tension between Elves and Dwarves (IMHO). Contrast the reception that the Dwarves received from the Elves with that they received in Esgaroth.

Unfortunately, the greater history only shows one incident between the two races. It also shows numerous alliances. I am attempting to reconcile what I read as evidence of distaste with an admitted lack of armed conflict.

I am prepared to agree to disagree.
