: I have a question for everyone. Who do you think was the greatest elven and man hero of all Middle-Earth and why? I think the greatest elven hero would have to be Fingolfin. I know that Feanor was supposed to be the greatest elf but Feanor didn't do much as far as heroics today. Fingolfin however, battled Morgoth, a Vala and wounded him seven times. I wouldn't say he was the smartest but he was the bravest. : The greatest man hero would have to be Hurin. He and his men held the rearguard all alone against the full strength of Angband while the elves retreated. Hurin also slew 70 trolls/orcs single-handedly and then faced Morgoth and "was not daunted". : -ThentaranTaking heroic to mean accomplishing some great thing with bravery, and understanding that hobbits are a branch of mankind, I would put forth Frodo & Sam for the scope of what they accomplished for Middle Earth's free people. -Steve S.
